About the event

Patricia Izbicki, PhD, MT-BC (in progress)

Affiliate Faculty, Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute

Affiliate Assistant Professor, Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine

Engagement Manager, Mirada Life Sciences

Dr. Patricia Izbicki is a neuroscientist, classical pianist and harpsichordist, forthcoming music therapist, and life sciences strategist whose work connects neuroscience, medicine, music, and the arts. Across academic research, clinical training, community engagement, and the biopharmaceutical industry, she translates complex scientific evidence into meaningful applications that support brain health, patient care, and quality of life.

As a 2025 Renée Fleming Neuroarts Investigator, she leads research exploring how community choral singing may benefit cognition, emotional well-being, social connection, and healthcare economics for people living with dementia and their care partners. At Mirada Life Sciences, she specializes in medical affairs, medical education, market access, and health economics and outcomes research across neurology, oncology, and precision medicine.

Her work has appeared in leading neuroscience and aging journals, as well as BrainFacts, Scientific American, and the Johns Hopkins International Arts + Minds Lab.

Outside of work, Patricia enjoys running, diving, hiking, pickleball, spearfishing, and traveling with her partner, Mark. Together, they manage a tiny-home Airbnb called The Nauti House.
