ANDREA GOLDSMITH
Andrea Goldsmith is an abstract artist who uses acrylic paint to allow the layers underneath to peek through like a buried ancient city, expressing how loss remains and is connected to our present. Originally from New York City, Goldsmith is based in Delray Beach, Florida. She previously maintained studios in Brooklyn, Miami, and New Hampshire. Andrea had a solo show at SpaceConnect in West Palm Beach in 2025, and she was in an invitational group show with Fluff Los Angeles at Kufa Gallery in Miami in December 2025. Andrea Goldsmith had a large solo exhibition at the Alper JCC Futernick Family Gallery in Miami in 2018. A memorable award was 1st prize from the artist Jon Imber in Concord, Mass. She studied at the Boston Museum School and with the artist Wolf Kahn, after beginning her studies in New Hampshire and on the island of Nantucket.
My abstract paintings are influenced by my journeys to ancient cities in Italy, Greece, and Spain. Inspired by architectural elements such as gates, portals, and colorful ruins, all that remains are vestiges of these images as my work turns more towards displaced lines and shapes to convey transitions of memory and continuum forward. Ancient ruins remind us that civilizations come and go and the moment is fleeting. Recent paintings are more gestural and emotional, reflecting our uncertain times.
